1st, Most low bed trailers have an iron plate, which is durable & strong. However, some countries like to use wooden boards instead of iron steel plate.
The main reason for using a wooden board is to reduce the total weight of the low bed trailer. Here is an example of a low bed semi trailer with a wood board.
2nd, The tires of a low bed semi trailer can either be unexposed or exposed. The main purpose of exposing the tires is to reduce the height of the low bed trailer.

3rd, Sometimes the products that needs to be transported requires the semi low bed trailer size to be adjusted. The cargo may be wide or long.
For example, 40 ft semi low bed trailer dimensions need to be more wide, need to extend about 24 cm if needed.

3, Removable gooseneck trailers (RGN trailers) and folding gooseneck trailers.
RGN trailer have the same staircase structure at the real part as the low loader trailers. The main difference in these low bed semi trailer is the trailer gooseneck can be removed (with removable gooseneck).
Advantages.
Why should you choose a removable gooseneck trailer (RGN trailer) instead of other types low bed semi trailers?
One important reason is loading heavy machines from the front is safer than loading from the sides, or from the rear part.
Two ways to unload & load construction machines.
1#, Back loading:
Equipped with fixed neck at the front & a climbing ramp at the rear of lowboy trailer, no need procedure to detach neck, just put down the mechanical / hydraulic ramp then you can unload & load equipment directly. By this means, construction machines need strong ability to climb the high ramp.
2#, Front loading:
With detachable / removable gooseneck, when remove the gooseneck from RGN trailer, slope design of front deck enable construction machines to climb up / down freely.
