A tipper semi trailer is mainly used in the construction industry & mining industry for transporting, loading & unloading bulk goods, such as sand or stone, gravel, etc. Thanks to the hydraulic tipping system, you can unload the trailer in no time & you are ready for the next ride.

Types of Tipper Trailers

There are mainly two types of tipper trailers:

• Rear Tipper (Back Tipper Semi Trailer).

• Side Tipper (Side Tipper Semi Trailer).

1, Back Tipper Semi Trailer.

About Back Tipper Semi Trailer, there is also 2 types mainly.

a, U shape tipper semi trailer.

b, normal shape tipper semi trailer.

A back tipping trailer also known as a rear tipper trailer works by offloading cargo towards the back area. It is commonly used to carry construction material such as sand, stones as well as other materials such as coal, mining.

Normally, you can use it for loading industrial raw materials or any other solid material used in construction. The back tipper design is meant to facilitate the offloading process for transport.

Once the back of your trailer is locked, you can load your cargo in that position. After arriving at your destination, the front side of the tipper trailer gets raised causing your cargo to drop off from the back.

The bucket of your rear trailer has been built with a thicker steel plate to sustain the weight of the cargo, it is usually of hard materials. This way, the tough steel plate prevents the cargo from damaging your trailer. (some factory using worse thickness, it still looks same, but the quality is different).

The back tipper semi trailer is suitable for cargo with a large rest angle. It is important to note that the Rear tipper cannot be more than 12m long. Any truck longer than that may be dangerous.

2, Side Tipper Semi Trailer.

A side tipper trailer is an alternative to the back tipper. This type of tipper truck trailer allows you to offload your goods from the side. Still, you can use it for transporting solid building materials such as sand, stones, mining, among others.

The side tipper makes use of hydraulic pumps (normally have different quantity, from 4~8 units pumps) & hydraulic motors, and a dump-bucket to one side. The remaining side gives you the option of opening & locking it during your job operations.

The design is meant to allow side dumping & there is a reason for that. You may be forced to do side dumping in areas, and when there isn’t sufficient space.

In this situation, lateral offloading can be done using this side tipper trailer. It helps in saving space. Thick steel plates are also put in place to prevent damages that may occur on the trailer with weak plates.

Unlike with the back tipper trailers, the side tipper trailer is suitable for cargo with a small rest angle. But the side dump trailer can load more than the back tipper trailer capacity.
